Today, a TV monitor with a video function and a computer belong to the minimum fixtures and fittings in a household. This means that nimble video production equipment is democratically distributed. “Maximise the Minimum” is a concept for the mobilisation and artistic exploitation of these “private tools”, which seeks to make a current contribution to apparative art by means of the publication of on- and offline compilations.
On this Videoblog, 32 authors with differing approaches to the medium of video have faced up to the challenge to "MAXIMIZE THE MINIMUM!” for the first time.³ They have placed a total of 49 works, which were created in workshops, within the context of a search for the technically determined aesthetics of mobiles, digicam and consumer camcorders.
Zur Minimalausstattung eines Haushalts zählen heute eine Bildmaschine mit Videofunktion und ein Computer. Damit sind leichtfüßige Video - Produktionsmittel demokratisch verteilt. „Maximize The Minimum“ ist ein Konzept zur Mobilisierung und künstlerischen Ausbeutung dieser „Private Tools“ und möchte, mit der Publikation von Compilations auf On- und Offline Media, einen aktuellen Beitrag zur apparativen Kunst leisten.
Im vorliegenden Videoblog haben sich 32 Autoren, mit unterschiedlichen Zugängen zum Medium Video erstmals der Aufforderung:
„MAXIMIZE THE MINIMUM !“
gestellt. Sie reihen insgesamt 49, in Workshops entstandene Arbeiten, in einen Kontext der Suche nach technisch determinierter Ästhetik von Handy, Digicam und Consumer Camcordern ein.
